DC Metro Learning provides practical, non-degree technical training for people who want to develop hands-on skills in network cabling, fiber optics, low-voltage installation, Wi-Fi, audio-visual systems, and IT field services.
Our training is built for adults, college students, career changers, and anyone interested in learning a technical trade or building an independent service business — taught by technicians who do this work every day across the DMV.
Each track combines classroom fundamentals with hands-on practice. Program length, tools and completion requirements are covered in detail during enrollment.
Pull, terminate and dress Cat5e/Cat6 copper to industry standard, from rough-in to patch panel.
Handle, clean, connectorize and splice single- and multi-mode fiber, plus safe handling practices.
Fundamentals of low-voltage systems, wiring methods, device rough-in and code-aware practices.
Data drops, labeling and dressing for clean, testable network runs in real buildings.
Certify copper and fiber, read results, label to standard and produce clean as-built docs.
Show up ready: tools, terminology, site conduct, service reports and customer communication.
